Exam Overview

German immigration lawyers open opportunities for foreign doctors to work as doctors in Germany. These are the steps for becoming a doctor from Indonesia to continue your studies or become a specialist in their field in Germany

Overall there are 3 exams that must be taken, namely:

  • German language exam and preparation course level B2 (Goethe-Z Certified B2). Estimated duration of 12 months in Indonesia.
  • Preparatory courses (Vorbereitung Fachsprachenprüfung) and medical language examinations. Estimated duration of 3-6 months in Germany
  • Preparatory courses (Vorbereitung Kenntnisprüfung) and medical equivalent examinations. Estimated duration of 3-6 months in Germany
German language exam and preparation courses up to level B2 or Goethe-Z Certified B2.

The German language requirement for PPDS in Germany is to pass the Goethe-Z Certificate B2 or a GOETHE equivalent exam such as TELC or TESTDAF. From A1 level to B2 level, it will take approximately 1 year at the Goethe Institute in Indonesia with a superintensive program from Monday to Friday 08.00-16.00 ( https://www.goethe.de/ins/id/id/sta/jak/kur/all.html?forceDesktop=1 ).

Kursus persiapan dan ujian bahasa kedokteran.

Setelah mendapatkan sertifikat bahasa B2 atau Goethe-Zertifikat B2, langkah Anda selanjutnya adalah mendaftarkan diri untuk mengikuti Kursus persiapan ujian bahasa  kedokteran bersama PPDS-Germany dan Partner di Jerman.  Kursus dan ujian ini berdurasi 3-6 bulan. Dalam kursus ini Anda spesifik bahasa kedokteran. Setelah kursus Anda akan mengikuti ujian bahasa kedokteran di ikatan dokter setempat.

Preparatory courses and medical equivalence examinations.

After you pass the medical language exam (Fachsprachenprüfung), you can actually work as a doctor using a temporary work permit (Berufserlaubnis), but you do not work as a resident but as a general practitioner. Because Berufserlaubnis is only valid for 2 years, you will need a permanent work permit (Approbation), which can be obtained after the balancing test (Kenntnisprüfung). local

Overall, there are 3 exams required to work as a resident doctor (PPDS) in Germany and the time it will take you from the start to get a permanent work permit is 18-24 months.
